This pretty and look alike lantern is created so it can use the sun to charge the battery and work at night.
It is not very tall; measures: 9" H x 3½" D, but the right size for a Fairy garden decoration, not meant to use for driveway flash as it is too small to give you the right glow.
It comes with a battery, rechargeable, so in order to get it to work you need to screw the top off and put the switch in the position: "ON".
It is the same place if you want to use it indoors with a standard battery, here you can fit a standard AAA battery instead only thing is you will need to switch it on and off manually.
No extra cost, no wiring, the sun-powered lantern will turn on and off automatically by dusk and work into the night.
It is weather-resistant made of Polyresin, metal, and plastic.

If you for some reason take it indoors and don't want to use it, then it is advised to take out the battery.
It is a pretty little home, and it glows in the night, I like the details, it reminds me of the time where I sailed a lot, it surely makes me recall my past.
I think it is very convenient it can be used either way; outdoor or indoor with the same effect.
